Ashford Radio would like to introduce Ms. Virginia A. Tepfer, on September 2nd, 2011, at 12pm EST. Ms. Tepfer is located in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and is the Author of “Chamizal: Territory-War-Statehood”, a book that tells a story from Spanish American War days, and how New Mexico volunteers returned to the Territory with great determination to gain statehood.
From high school, she went on to Southwestern University in Memphis, Tennessee, then later, attended the University Of Redlands to achieve her B.A. in Business Administration. Her first job was secretary to the Chief Editorial Writer of the town newspaper, who introduced her to the combination of writing and history that continues to interest her.
Years later, she left her secretarial position to work for Holloman Air Force Base, a part of the Air Research and Development Command, and Hughes Aircraft Company, where testing of radar and missile guidance systems were performed. After retirement, Ms. Virginia accepted a part-time position as a tutor, in the English and Writing Center at the Alamogordo Branch of New Mexico State University, and stayed for ten years.
